Frequently Asked Questions

1. How many days do I need in Xi'an?

Extremely safe! Xi'an is one of China's safest cities. Violent crime is rare. Normal precautions apply — watch for pickpockets in crowded Muslim Quarter at night.

4. What language is spoken?

Mandarin Chinese. In Muslim Quarter, some vendors speak basic English. Download Google Translate or Pleco. Learn a few phrases: "Nǐ hǎo" (hello), "Xiè xiè" (thank you), "Duō shǎo qián" (how much).
